Blissful Wife Ministries started out in an effort to encourage other wives.
Over the last few weeks and months, God has changed this ministry. Mostly, because I noticed on my blog (and the blogs of others) that in our humanity, we interject our OPINIONS about the way that we are called to live out our marriages as fact in ALL marriages.
Another reason, is because this ministry is not only for wives, but for broken people.
I really felt that during this period of my life, I sugarcoated the problems in my marriage, and ignored things in my life that needed to be dealt with. I turned to blogging about my marriage, and other blogs about marriage to find the “fix” that would help it all.
Since then, God has put me in a period of revival. I’ve been savoring His Word, and seeking His Face. I’m here to testify that because of this revival, my husband and I are happier in our marriage than we ever have been. My husband got his wife back. And, I’ve never been happier in my marriage.
My marriage has a restored bliss because of Christ Alone!
I do believe that women naturally want to make a home for their loved ones. This is wonderful. But, I used to spend hours on Pinterest trying to make my house better because I was insecure that I wasn’t doing a good enough job. I fell into a period of materialism that was hindering my walk with Christ.
We want to be good wives and mamas. But, sometimes in this type of ministry we put our earthly desires before Jesus. We put the influence and opinions of people that are walking in a (seemingly) less dysfunctional set of fallen flesh than we are before what God says about our calling.
But, to be good wives and mamas, we have to be FULL of Christ. We have to study the Word. We have to submit to Him in all matters in our lives. If this is not first goal, no amount of Christian advice can help our marriages flourish.
It is my hope that Christ brings Revival to every home, and that we all find our Joy in Him alone.
